Grisedale Cottage is located in a small community of cottages, surrounded by mountains and lakes. Everywhere you look there are glimpses of the Lakeland fells and lakes ~ inspiring at any time of year. And Grisedale Cottage itself is a comfortable and well equipped traditional Lakeland cottage; a real home-from-home from which you can explore the Lake District.
A stone built porch leads into the cosy lounge where you can relax in comfort in the evenings and plan your days out. The attractive lounge has a beamed ceiling and a Lakeland stone fireplace with a multi fuel stove and an electric storage heater.
There is a TV with Sky freeview programmes and DVD player and a CD player with a choice of DVDs and CDs for you to use. There is also a good selection of local books, walking guides and magazines for you to use to plan your days out. The cottage also has a payphone for incoming and outgoing calls. Vodafone is the only mobile network which works here!
The modern, well equipped oak kitchen has an electric oven and hob, fridge, freezer, washing machine, dish washer and microwave. There is plenty of storage space for your food, wines and beers. We think you'll have everything you need. From the kitchen window, you can enjoy the peaceful views of the garden.
The kitchen leads into an internal hall where there is a sauna and shower room. This hall leads into the light and airy conservatory at the back of the house. This overlooks the garden and has a large dining table and cosy chairs so that you can relax after a long day in the hills. Or you can escape everyone else and enjoy some real peace and quiet.
On the ground floor there is a spacious double bedroom with an en-suite toilet and wash basin. This lovely bedroom is well fitted with a wardrobe and chest of drawers and there is an electric storage heater for those cooler nights. Bed linen is provided and all the beds will be made up for your arrival.
The stairway from the lounge leads upstairs where there is a twin bedroom and a single bedroom. Both have electric storage heaters and are well equipped.
The main bathroom is also upstairs and has a bath with a shower, a WC and a wash hand basin. Next door is a good sized storage room with an electric drying cabinet which can be used for drying washing or damp outdoor gear.
The enclosed garden is at the back of the cottage and has good views of the surrounding fells. It is reached via the conservatory and has a patio area, a central lawn and another seating area at the back of the garden. Ideal for warm sunny evenings or for the kids to let off steam.
There is a dedicated parking area opposite the cottage and a second car can be parked directly outside the cottage.
Sorry, but we do not accept pets and there is no smoking at Grisedale Cottage.
